I’m thrilled for Betsy Veldman’s amazing new company, “the greetery!” I can’t wait to do some experimenting with her gorgeous stencils, but that will have to wait until after the new year.
I had even less time than usual to make christmas cards this year, so I tried to stick to simple designs. I love the bright colors with these modern trees!

'Tis the season . . . for cookie baking and card making! Each Christmas I try to create 10 card designs, then stamp multiples of each design to send to family and friends. I have several sets in various stages of assembly, but here is the first completed set:
I'll be the first to admit that I struggle when it comes to creating masculine cards (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does!) but I like the way this card came together . . .

For a sweet friend who picked cherries and then shared them with me!
The stamped strip of big tickets was the perfect way to add a bold sentiment that coordinated with the patterned paper, along with a bit of washi tape. The cherries, with a hint of sparkle, are the finishing touch.
I chose another preprinted card base from papertrey ink to create a soft, feminine ombre background in shades of corally pink. I was amazed that all this card needed was a bit of black & white twine - the effect was sweet and simple!
another card I put together with bits and pieces left over from other projects (I don’t know why I have such a difficult time just throwing them away when I clean up, but here they are!)
farmer’s market inspired: One of my stamping goals this summer is to incorporate the unused supplies that have been sitting on my table for quite awhile - I liked the pattern and shades of green of this preprinted background from papertrey ink to highlight my colorful veggies (the “enjoy” frame was something I cut months ago and was happy to be able to use it also). I clipped this card to a stack of bon appetit magazines I was gifting to a friend . . . stamps: papertrey ink papers: papertrey ink dies: papertrey ink embellishments: clip - making memories; twine - pebbles in my pocket
I love how my version of Melissa Bickford’s fabulous card turned out!
I used a pre-printed card base with that great double-line border, stamped a centered sentiment and then framed it with the bright die-cut flowers (I was amazed how stamping just the centers on the pink flowers in black ink brought the flowers to life).
I actually sponged the background months ago, using a hexagon stencil and didn't end up using it on another project, but I love the way it looks behind just a section of a cover plate pattern. The wood sentiment is such a great compliment to the color combo . . .
