SSC218

I'll be the first to admit that I struggle when it comes to creating masculine cards (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does!) but I like the way this card came together . . .

faux leather

5-Ashley

I used light, bright colors to keep this faux leather creation from being too dark/serious . . .
 * tips:  I wet the cardstock with plain old water and then crumpled it several times - after it was completely dry, I sponged the high spots with darker ink and then I ran in thru my big shot several times to flatten it out

stamps:  papertrey ink
papers:  stampin' up, papertrey ink
dies:  papertrey ink
embellishments:  washi tape & heart brad - american crafts; baker's twind - pebbles in my pocket

colored cotton

3-Stephanie

my little grandson loves to ride the ferris wheel at scheels - and he'll love this pale blue cotton candy!
    * tip:  I found that making the paper "cone" was much easier with vellum than it was with cardstock

special delivery

santa gave my little grandson a mailbox for christmas, so I've been sending scrap notes to put in his mailbox every few days (he keeps telling his mommy that he "needs more letters") . . . so here is the one I put together this morning . . .

squares squared . . .

more of Papertrey Ink's 9th Anniversary fun . . .

Here's the challenge:
1. Create a new card that features nine 1-1/2" squares, each altered in a different way.  Mount them all onto a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square card base.
2. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product.

And here's my take:

die:  papertrey ink
embellishments:  washi tape - stampin' up; baker's twine - the pebbles in my pocket; jumbo paperclip

unconventional materials challenge

MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD:  while I was rummaging thru all of my husband's hardware supplies in the garage, I thought I could just throw a handful of small screws, washers & nuts in a shaker card and call it done, but that seemed way to easy . . . my husband is legally blind, so I appreciate these larger sentiments from papertrey . . . happy birthday, honey!

I'm SO excited about this new challenge . . . THANK YOU, Betsy!  it just happens to be my day off work, so I soaked in all of the release day inspiration while my husband was having his blood drawn at the lab this morning, ran to Costco, made "brunch" (because it was WAY past anyone's "breakfast" by the time we got home!) . . . then upstairs I ran to create something bold & colorful, just like Laura's fabulous rainy day card . . .
