so, I've fretted and worried about this little project for several days - I feel so intimidated when I try to re-create someone else's stamping style . . . especially Maile's! I tried to use a tone-on-tone background when I stamped the hearts with versamark, but it turned out quite bright . . . I kept the rest of the layout very simple, but I just couldn't resist layering a few extra colors and patterns (I love the results!)
the "pineapple express" has been blowing thru northern California ALL day - it's SO windy tonight that I haven't even attempted to try to go to sleep . . . so I'm upstairs stamping a few more valentines . . .
I chose this layout sketch . . .
and Betsy's color combination . . .
to create a masculine valentine for my favorite Joes in little rhodie :)
stamps: papertrey ink, close to my heart papers: papertrey ink, echo park, stampin' up dies: papertrey ink, sizzix embellishments: baker's twine - the twinery; mini staples - stampin' up
