I was blessed to have spent a college semester in Hawaii many, many years ago - so this stamp said, "traditional Hawaiian quilt" to me the instant I saw it - lucky for Hawaiians that they don't really need cozy quilts, but they sure are beautiful to look at!
here's a card that was made from some scraps left over from valentine projects . . .
stamps: papertrey ink, stampin' up
papers: basic grey, stampin' up
dies: papertrey ink
embellishments: ribbon - from my stash (bought at a little stamping store in rhode island about 26 years ago!); button - american crafts; embroidery thread - dmc
I REALLY tried to use up some OLD papers while I was creating valentines this year . . . looks like I'll probably be doing the same thing for the NEXT 20 years, or so!!!
sometimes there's just no denying that I am, absolutely, an English perennial garden/shabby chic kind of girl - so this label stamp speaks to me in so many ways! I stamped a white-on-white striped pattern with pigment ink and then used the label stamp to create an all-over "wallpaper" feeling. (the English LOVE their wallpaper, you know ;) when I paired the background with a bit of royal blue it reminded me of my much loved/much used "blue willow" china . . .

ok, well I thought this was going to be so fun . . . but actually it was a bit intimidating to create something with Betsy's name on it! I was instantly attracted to the color combination, so here is what I did with her sweet thank you label . . .
here's a simple little way to say, "love you" (and I'm a BIG fan of anything asymmetrical - by adding an element that extends "over the edge" just makes it even more interesting!)
