moving to the city . . .

well . . . we moved, we're settled, I have a fabulous space for stamping and scrapbooking, but it's been difficult to find blocks of time to do what I so enjoy
. . . I wanted to send out some "we've moved" announcements in the fall, but didn't get to them, so I combined them with Christmas cards.  Close to my Heart, Papertrey Ink & Stampin' Up made a great combination for my little city scene - I was delighted that they came together so quickly . . .

It's hard to believe that I've been away from my little blog for TWO months!  Moving was a total nightmare, but I have a great creative space upstairs in our new house . . . pics to come real soon!  I'm making an 8x8 album of my grandson's first year for my daughter and her husband (they will add the photos and journaling - I'm just creating the page layouts).  As I'm looking at this photo, I see that I'm going to have to find a better spot to take pictures because those "pinkish" looking embellishments are actually red!

moving . . .

. . . just letting everyone know that I'll be absent from my blog just a little while longer - we're finally downsizing (yeah!!!).  We bought a cute little cottage in Chico, so we'll be moving next month.  Needless to say, I haven't had any time to be creative . . . have any idea how long it's going to take us to let go of 34 years of accumulation???  (I DO have to admit that feels WONDERFUL to get rid of stuff)
I can't wait to get my new stamping area set up - it's going to be fabulous - and I have so many ideas swimming around in my head . . . I'll be anxious to share them all with you . . .

sometimes there's just no denying that I am, absolutely, an English perennial garden/shabby chic kind of girl - so this label stamp speaks to me in so many ways!  I stamped a white-on-white striped pattern with pigment ink and then used the label stamp to create an all-over "wallpaper" feeling.  (the English LOVE their wallpaper, you know ;)  when I paired the background with a bit of royal blue it reminded me of my much loved/much used "blue willow" china . . .
